PET production machines like labelling are blow moulding machines are often affected by the electrical disturbances that occur on a power distribution system causing important losses. The adverse effects of these disturbances can be mitigated by installing power-conditioning equipment.

- Reduction of unproductive times due to machine shutdowns.
The plant is located in rural areas exposed to electrical disturbances caused by rain, wind and trees; the generation of sags and voltage surges were constant causing damage mainly in the blow moulding machine due to the bursting of the lamps in the ovens. Some of the adverse effects were waste of pre-form material and variations in the temperature of the oven and affecting our customer Coca-Cola Femsa with unproductive time.
Between 2015 and May 2017 (before the DVR was comissioned) a total of 95 halogen lamps of the blowing maching were consumed due electrical disturbances with a total cost of: $ 63’215,723 whereas from May 2017 til today (after the Zigor DVR was comissioned) only 12 lamps where consumed with a total cost of $ 13’674.546.
After the DVR of 150 KVA / 400V was installed, high stability in the process was achieved by reducing unproductive lines to less than 0.5%, and waste below 0.3%. The breakage of the halogen lamps of the blower were also eliminated completely.
Tapón Corona’s is unproductive times has been eliminated and is now able tod supply high quality products to its client, Coca-Cola Femsa.
