PV Hybrid power plant to supply electricity to two villages in Senegal

June 2014

Zigor has supplied two hybrid systems based in ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C 50 kVA inverters for the installation of two solar plants in the region of Matan, northeast of Senegal, close to the border of Mauritania.

The systems are installed in two PV hybrid plants, which supplies electric power to village "Hombo" community of "Ogo" and to village "Dial" community of "Orefonde". These villages do not have grid connection and their productivity and development in farming and livestock and specially in local textile industry, depends on an autonomous and continous supply of electricity without power cuts.

The commisioning of these two hybrid systems ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C, was set up during March, 2014.

These systems are designed to meet power requirements in locations not covered by the grid, as well as for hybrid rural electrification and/or distributed generation. One of the mains features of  ZIGOR SOLAR HIT3C hybrid inverters is that they are capable of adding energy from several different sources while controlling all of them from a unique management system, giving always priotrity to the renewable source.

The hybrid power plants are also equipped with an automatic bypass to assure the power supply under almost any circumstance, as well as with monitoring system called ZIGOR SOLAR SWS2000 which provides monitoring, log and communication capabilities in addition to full remote access to all systems.
